Demi Bland Soft Tissue Therapist (Level 5 diploma)

Hello and welcome to Enhance Soft Tissue Therapy, where I run a physical therapy clinic from my home studio.
Since qualifying as a Soft Tissue Therapist with a Level 5 diploma from the London School of Massage, I have worked as a Sports and Remedial Massage therapist for private physiotherapy companies, a Physiotherapy assistant in the NHS Musculoskeletal Community Physiotherapy department and coached many exercise classes in local Studios, to now running my own practice offering a huge range of services which you can read all about here.
Over the years I have loved the direction my practice has taken me… So far! Working alongside holistic practitioners, I truly believe I can approach all of my treatment plans with not only good evidence based practice and advanced clinical reasoning, but with a holistic eye. Whether that be the use of acupuncture or myofascial dry cupping, to the use of breathing techniques to help with pain management/stress related conditions - and the list goes on!
My love for various therapies continues to grow after every trip and training course I attend. I really do just love to learn and then especially to share my knowledge to help you.
A few of my recent endeavors have been completing the IMPART level 1 qualification in understanding menopause. This has broadened my knowledge in finding better ways to approach the treatment of menopause through physical therapy and activity!
A trip around China to experience many of their traditional Chinese practice therapies, medicines and endless cups of teas (!!). Other examples include many day trips around the UK to study various new modalities, such as advanced techniques for acupuncture, to studying the best practices for temporal mandibular joint dysfunction/oral facial headaches (sounds familiar to you? So whether you have a new or existing condition, injury, just simply wanting some time out to relax or to come and increase your physical activity, I warmly welcome you to my home studio and I look forward to working together to improve your quality life.

What is Soft Tissue Therapy?

“Soft Tissue Therapy is the manipulation, management and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body - i.e. muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints - to enhance a person’s health and well being.”

It is an umbrella term for a wide spread of hands-on techniques, applied to various musculoskeletal issues. It is a multi-disciplinary approach, enabling you to live a fit, active and healthy lifestyle.

This hands-on approach aims to not only alleviate pain but, reduce tense muscles and increase your range of motion at a joint. Although this is form of therapy can be beneficial for chronic pain and injuries, it can also really help to prevent injury and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

During treatment, a soft tissue therapist will assess you, perform treatment through applying various advanced soft tissue techniques. This will be carefully thought and tailored towards you, allowing you to gain maximum benefit from this form of therapy. Additionally, prescribed exercises can be issued to further improve or maintain your lifestyle in aid of your rehabilitation process.
